Westcon claims NetApp award
Westcon SA is pleased to announce that it has recently scooped up the award in the “Outstanding Contribution” category at NetApp’s partner conference Insight, recently hosted in Prague.
As a value-added distributor for NetApp in South Africa, Weston works with its resellers to provide innovative storage and data management solutions that are designed to help customers accelerate business breakthroughs and achieve outstanding cost efficiency.
The award was given to Andre Swanepoel, business development manager at Westcon, who has been actively involved in growing the local NetApp channel, as well as creates an awareness and understanding of the company’s product and solution offerings.
“Winning this award adds impetus to what we and our resellers are doing with the NetApp solution lines locally,” says Swanepoel. “It also provides us with acknowledgement of our efforts and acts as an incentive to push the boundaries even further in the data and storage management space.”
According to NetApp the individual awards handed out at its annual Insight partner conference are only presented to customers who show dedication and passion to the NetApp brand. In addition the judging criteria are based on the influence the teams have from a technical and sales viewpoint on the overall success of NetApp in their regions.
“As the world of technology is fast approaching the cloud, businesses need to ensure that they invest in storage solutions that can not only get them there, but ensure that when they are there they have the availability and productivity from their systems that they have grown accustomed to,” says Jacques Malherbe, CEO of Westcon SA.
“It is with this that NetApp remains a valuable vendor partner to Westcon and a partner we believe can help our resellers take their customers to the cloud and beyond,” he adds.
Jointly the companies provide the local market with storage solutions for business applications, storage for virtual servers, disk-to-disk backup, with a key focus on data centre consolidation as well as technology virtualisation.
